Ahwannacoon is a small, home based cattery located in the country outside the community of Linden, California, just east of Stockton. We are committed to placing happy, healthy kittens into loving homes where they make wonderful friends and companions.
Our cattery has been inspected by a licensed veterinarian and rated "Excellent" according to the TICA Voluntary Responsible Breeder Program and the CFA Cattery Environment Program. Our kittens are raised in our home and are well socialized before going to their new homes at 12 weeks of age. Kittens are placed with a health guarantee, are fully vaccinated for FVRCP and vet examined. We are a FeLV and FIP negative cattery. We are breeder members of the Maine Coon Breeders and Fanciers Association and dedicated to promoting and protecting these wonderful cats.
All of our adults are screened for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) by a board certified veterinary cardiologist. Our adults are also negative on the DNA test for the HCM gene discovered by Dr. Kathryn Meurs of Washinton State University. As of this writing, Ahwannacoon has had four generations of Maine Coons that were clear of HCM at the time of testing.
Our Maine Coons are registered with TICA and CFA. They have championship lines in their pedigrees but no matter if they are winners or losers at the show, each one is our very special top cat at home.
When you adopt a Maine Coon be prepared to have a furry face meet you at the door when you come home. You'll have someone waiting patiently to collect a tummy rub and you'll never want for someone to warm your lap and your heart during quiet times.
